Hi , I’m Yash.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist in the state of New York and the goal of my practice is to provide you with a space where you can reconnect with yourself, take control of your narrative, and heal from painful emotional wounds, at your own pace.

Here, we can identify and nurture your ways of staying grounded in moments of grief, loss, and hurt. Together, we can confront the things that feel too scary to face alone.

In our work, we will center self awareness, joy, and peace, to bolster your natural ability to heal and recover from challenges.

Noticing, identifying, and understanding our emotions, no matter how uncomfortable they are, is central to the healing process.

My Training and Framework.

I recognize the very real ways in which systems of oppression impact our lives, our emotions, and our ability to heal. Our work together will involve unlearning racist, capitalist, heteronormative, and eurocentric ideologies that inhibit the healing process.

In my own unlearning process, I have found it unhelpful to be tied to one therapeutic framework, treatment methodology, or ideology, oftentimes because these methods were not developed to serve people like me or my clients. Instead, I use an eclectic approach that involves blending elements from a variety of frameworks including, Feminist, Relational, and Emotion Focused perspectives.

My training includes:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York

  • MSW from Columbia University, with a focus on advanced clinical practice with immigrants and refugees

  • Meaning Centered Psychotherapy, Complicated Grief Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Experience in school, hospital, and cancer center based settings

  • Couples Therapy Training from the Training Institute for Mental Health
